Experts in India and China have refuted Condoleezza rice's comment that India and China are the main cause of rice shortage in the world.
"This shows lack of basic knowledge in US administration. In fact, it's US and it's culture that is responsible for shortage of rice in the world" said Mr. Verma, political analyst in Indian Centre of Foreign Affairs. He further added "In fact if US would have followed our culture, where children are considered gifts of god, Ms Rice would have had a large number of siblings."
"It's true, it is this frustration of not having large number of siblings, which made her accuse us of being responsible of rice shortage" added Kishan Kumar teacher of Political analysis in Mumbai University."Just look at the number of Thackreys, Gandhis, Mahajans and Bachchans we have. They all are in abundance here. Had her father been an Indian she would have also be seen large number of rices in US" commented Shanta Dhawal, head of Indo-US committee.
"There could be several other causes of shortage of rice in the world, but we primarily see this cultural divide between east and west as the main cause." he added.
