In the world of real-politic, the satirist thrives but sometimes even the most gifted satirist must admit that reality has become too absurd to encapsulate. Take the medal that Blair receives from Bush later today. Joseph Heller would surely be reduced to squirming silence at the extraordinary ceremony at the White House, when George W Bush is due to present Tony Blair with the presidential medal of freedom in recognition of his efforts to promote "democracy, human rights and peace abroad". The ceremony takes place against the background of the barbaric Israeli offensive in the Gaza Strip, in which both men have been complicit. The media starved for sound bites because of a ban to enter the ghetto of a tiny strip called Gaza is fed by the Zionist propaganda machine and is lapped up by its Western readers as the Holy Grail.
To be anti-Israel is to be anti-American as well, since the govt of the latter cheers the bloodsport that's going on. (I do not include the ordinary American here because on the Internet a majority of them have voiced their dissent to the line their govt is taking and have woken up to the fact that they were taught wrong in school. Moral superiority cannot be claimed by the USA alone,on the other hand they have, indeed, lost it )

In fact on a website, a letter to the editor asks the question -
"What have Jews been doing in history? They want political emancipation but they cannot achieve it. Why? Is it their religion that prevents it? Renouncing their religion would be especially difficult for Jews, since Judaism is a primitive stage in the development of Christianity.
I agree that you have to draw on the stereotype of the Jew as a financially apt "huckster" and posit a special connection between Judaism as a religion and the economy of contemporary society.
Practical Judaism and huckstering are the same. Christians have become Jews; and, ultimately, it is mankind (both Christians and Jews) that needs to emancipate themselves from practical Judaism. Israel and the Unites States have no problems living together but they definitely cannot live with Islam.
Muslims believe both the Torah and the Gospels are based upon divine revelation but believe them to have been corrupted (both accidentally through errors in transmission and intentionally by certain Jews and Christians over the centuries). I can believe that. There is something wrong with most Christian and Jews today. Count me out of the religious triangle. In the religious world two is company and three is a crowd. But its all about the hucksters wherever you find them. God knows we've suffered through the last eight years of them GEORGE W.!!"
So, as a content writer for this site and after sorting through 28 different websites the final list I settled upon goes something like this whenever the Israelis and the Arabs are mentioned in the same breath by the Western media and form the basic template on which their reporting is based.
The first rule? Well, in the Middle East, it is always the Arabs [Syria, Jordan and Palestine] that attack first, and it's always Israel which defends itself. This is called "retaliation".
The second rule is that the Arabs are not allowed to kill Israelis when they retaliate. And if they do it is called "terrorism".
The third rule is that Israel has the right to kill Arab civilians; this is called "self-defense", or "collateral damage".
The fourth most fundamental rule is that when Israel kills too many Arab civilians, the Western world calls for restraint, because their thirst for a blood-fest is quenched for the moment. This is called the "reaction of the international community".
The fifth rule is that Arabs have no fucking rights to take Israeli POWs' even if they are just 1 or 2.
Whereas the sixth rule is sacrosanct and comes with iron-clad blindness from the Western world and that is that Israel has the right to capture as many Arabs as they want (around 10,000 to date being held without trial). There is no limit; there is no need for proof of guilt or trial. All that is needed are two magic words: "terrorism" and "Arabs"
The seventh rule would make you want to laugh and that is: When you say "Hamas", always be sure to add "supported by Hezbo-Allah, Syria and Iran".
The eighth rule is a natural corollary to the seventh rule: When you say " Israel", never say "supported by the USA, the UK, European countries and even some Arab regimes", for people (God forbid) might believe this is not an equal conflict.
The ninth rule prohibits you from mentioning that when it comes to Israel, don't mention the words "occupied territories", "UN resolutions", "Geneva conventions". This could distress the audience of Fox, CNN, etc and they would lose their ad-revenues and outraged audience. All the banned words apply to the rest of the world and not to Israel and America [which is occupying Iraq and Afghanistan]
The tenth rule is a no-brainer: Israelis speak better English than Arabs who are guttural in the use of their vowels and consonants. This is why the Israelis are allowed to speak out as much as possible, so that they can explain rules 1 through 9. This is called "neutral journalism".
And finally the coup-de-grace that makes up the eleventh rule: If you don't agree with these rules or if you favor the Arab side over the Israeli side, you must be a very dangerous anti-Semite. You may even have to make a public apology if you express your honest opinion or be taken out by Mossad, which kills intellectuals that espouse the Palestine cause.
Amen.
