The row over Union Minister T R Baalu's admission that he used his official capacity to help his son get a gas deal is now snowballing into a political crisis.
The Rajya Sabha saw pandemonium on Thursday with the BJP and Opposition parties asking for Baalu to step down immediately.
A defiant Baalu so far has been maintaining that there is nothing wrong in what he did.
"Yes, I put in a word with the Petroleum Minister after the UPA Government was formed in 2004. What is wrong in it?" he said about the company, which he has headed in the past.
OU decided to judge the viewpoint of its readers and India as whole. In a big surprise he received big thumbs up.
"What wrong he did" says Vandy, an OU reader "This is how a family works, if he can't do anything for his son being a minister, what he will do for the nation", asks vandy.
"Absolutely right, this is what everyone of us does for our children "says shalini, she further adds "Only because he is a minister does his actions becomes wrong ?".
Around 90% of votes of the opinion poll conducted by OU gave thumbs up to the minister and agreed with his words, while remaining 10% were not sure.
