In response to the threat of extinction faced by ailing tiger, Bal Thackeray, right-wing environmentalists have come together on a single platform to launch 'Save the Tiger' campaign. The septuagenarian tiger who has been ailing since long time received a fresh, new wound when he was forced to eat dust during the recent elections in his home turf, Maharashtra.
A group of right-winger environmentalists including Ashok Junghal, Praveen Tigeria, Pramod Muttalik and many others, disturbed at the prospect of the country's lone political tiger dying a premature death met yesterday to discuss plans to save him from political irrelevancy. By the end of the meet, there was a consensus that Maharashtra Royal Tiger, Bal Thackeray cannot be allowed to become extinct and all efforts should be made to keep him alive and kicking.
The end result of the meeting was 'Save the Tiger' project, a project that would spread awareness about the dangers faced by Mumbai's tiger from poaching of his voter base by young Raj Thackeray, a ferocious young leopard who is slowly and surely making deep inroads in his territory.
Hurt and severely wounded at the hustings, the aging tiger has lost his mind and in a traumatic state of shock, disbelief and dementia attacked his regular prey, the Marathi Manoos, for stabbing him in his back. "There is an evil spirit driving you away from me and not allowing a meeting of your flesh with my hungry mouth. I've lost faith in everything including my god who gave me my fangs but has now taken away my agility. I devoted 44 years of my existence in the concrete jungles of Mumbai devouring you. Why are you abandoning me now? Where have I gone wrong? What crime have I committed? Your minds are dead, Marathi Manoos! Where is your pride? Lured by a young cub you are fleeing awqy from a real tiger.."
"Maharashtra Royal Tiger, Bal Thackeray is in danger of becoming an endangered specie unless quick, preventive action is not taken to protect him from poachers who are starving him and driving him mad by luring away his traditional prey, the species called 'Marathi Manoos'. " said the statement released by the newly-launched 'Save the Tiger' group.
The statement continued: "The political ecosystem of Maharashtra is in grave danger of becoming desaffronized as a result of threat of Bal Thackeray's extinction. It is imperative that urgent measures are taken to prevent him from becoming extinct."
The group called for strict action against poachers who are stealing the tiger's prey and alleged that senior officers of Department of Forestry are hand-in-gloves with the poachers.
"The tiger is essential part of our ecosystem. The ecology of our political woods functions optimally under the leadership of a tiger who thrives by keeping the weaker animals in a state of fear. It is important to ensure a constant, uninterrupted supply of prey by preventing other wild beasts from infiltrating the tiger's territory and stealing his food supply.".
