Onion Uttapam : India's Leading Satire Daily

After a lot of cajoling and promises of expensive gifts, we finally consented to interview attention whore, Rakhi Sawant at her spanking new house.

When we reached her house Ms. Sawant was there at the door in a sexy, sleeveless T-Shirt and bermudas with her boyfriend Abhishek who was dressed similarly. Both were wet with sweat and when we politely asked for the reason Abhishek explained that they were rehearsing for Rakhi's new album "Sawariya" where she would be performing a towel dance.

Asking our pardon they ushered us to their drawing hall and left us staring at thousands of Rakhi's. They returned after 2 hours fully dressed up for the occasion.

We finally sat down for the dinner-cum-interview. The food served to us was as tasty and spicy as Rakhi.

Here is a brief transcript of what followed :

OU: Rakhi, thanks for serving us so many varieties of onion uttapams.

Rakhi: Actually it is I who should be thanking you. For you are the medium between me and my fans. As for the food woh to spicy hona hi tha, aakhir Rakhi ke ghar ka khana hai uskee tarah spicy aur hot hoga.

(Abhishek nods his head in agreement)

OU: What is the album that you were practicing for when we arrived?

Rakhi: Actually it is a dance for my new Album "Saawariya" in which I do a towel number, similar to what Ranbir did in SLB's film. It is something which I have not attempted before and I pray that I don't disappoint my fans.

Abhishek: No chance dear. Your fans love you very much. Actually it will be a treat for them. I have again fallen in love with you seeing you practice this dance.

OU: Rakhi, you have been in the news quite often in recent months. Some people even say that you intentionally do crazy things to be always in news. Do you actively seek attention?

Rakhi (becomes quite angry at this): This is what people who are jealous of my success say. They can't see that a girl from poor background has achieved this much. These people can't see an Indian woman achieving what so called convent girls have achieved. It is love of my fans which has kept me strong and made me successful.

(Abhishek again nods his head in agreement)

OU: Rakhi, you have been a hit as an item dancer but not as an actress. What do you have to say on this?

Rakhi: I got some offers, but they were regular dancing-around-tree roles wearing a saree. I don't want to do what others are doing.

Abhishek: When Rakhi will act in a film, it will make the whole world sit up and notice.

OU: Rakhi, which role would you like to do the most?

Rakhi: I would love to the role done by Zeenat Amman in Satyam Shivam Sundaram or Rekha in Utsav.

OU: Rakhi, which Hollywood actresses do you admire most?

Rakhi: Sharon Stone.

OU: Which role of Sharon Stone would you like to do?

Rakhi: I would love to play the same role which Stone in did Basic Instinct. If any director is prepared to make a remake of that film, I am ready to do it free of cost....

(After a brief pause)

I would do it much better then Sharon stone.

Rakhi starts to cros and uncross her legs (we gasp, gape, gawk...)

OU: Rakhi, we heard that Telgi said that your item number in "Mudrank" is too hot and it will tarnish his reputation.

Rakhi: Tarnish his reputation? Uski maaki, does he have any reputation? My dance number is a tribute to all the dance girls who used to dance in dance bars.

At this moment Abhishek served us desserts. After having it, we bid goodbye to the loving couple. Whatever others say, Rakhi could be described as what Abhishek says "Woh jo bhee kartee hai shaan se kartee hai".
