hI,
from the days of Syghman Rhee,marcos,Zia-ul-haq,suharto,Saudi kings,Sadat,Shah of persia etc etc, USA has never DID anything to support democracy . May be it supported democracy in some seminars attended by some amensty types. It s own action in running secret prisons and Gautnobo bay are revealing. But then it has always shown it is a bigger bully than the ones it nurtured like Osama, Saddam and others who fall out with it.
